Each calculator is built around a stated formula, plain-language definitions, a worked numerical example, known exclusions, and a related guide. The goal is to help readers understand and challenge the result rather than accept an unexplained number.
Review process
- Formulas are tested against independent manual calculations and boundary inputs.
- Examples use the same logic as the interactive tool.
- Claims that depend on location, regulation, insurance, or contract terms are labeled as variable.
- Official federal or state starting points are linked where regulation affects the topic.
- Unsupported universal benchmarks and invented “industry averages” are avoided.
- Review dates appear on guides and downloadable resources.
Source hierarchy
MarginJob prefers government agencies, governing project documents, current insurer or payroll records, and primary technical documentation. Secondary explanations may help with context but do not replace controlling sources.
Corrections and updates
Material corrections are prioritized when a calculation, explanation, source, or limitation is unclear or inaccurate. Calculator starting values are worked examples only and are not recommendations.
